If you’re returning to campus this weekend for the Notre Dame Football versus Marshall home game on Saturday, Sept. 10, we encourage you to be aware of new traffic patterns caused by the Douglas Road Project that may affect your travel!

Douglas Road has now reopened to east-west traffic from Twyckenham Drive through the Ironwood Road intersection. However, the north-south lanes on Ironwood Road will remain closed through the duration of the project.

INBOUND TRAFFIC:

Inbound one-way traffic patterns for the game will start approximately 3 hours before kickoff. Douglas Road from SR-23 to Twyckenham will remain as two-way traffic.

OUTBOUND TRAFFIC:

Outbound traffic patterns will be in effect 2 hours post game. DouglasRoadwill be one-wayeastbound for all lanes from Twykenham to SR-23, as in years past.

To ensure all Irish fans have a pleasant experience while commuting, we invite you to arrive early and allow plenty of time to avoid delays caused by heavy traffic. As always, please exercise caution while entering and exiting the stadium and surrounding areas.

To Notre Dame Stadium:

From Indiana Toll Road

Use Exit 77 (South Bend/Notre Dame). Turn left (north) onto SR 933/Bus.31. Go north – third traffic light (Cleveland Road) turn right (east). At the first traffic light (Juniper Road) turn right, south on Juniper Road. Public Parking is just past the bridge. Please follow directions of traffic control personnel as you approach the campus area.

From Indianapolis

Follow U.S. 31 North. That becomes SR 933/Bus.31 just south of South Bend. Proceed through South Bend and continue north. DO NOT turn on Angela Boulevard but proceed north (past Notre Dame and the Toll Road entrance) and to Cleveland Road, turn right (east). At the first traffic light (Juniper Road) turn right, south on Juniper Road. Public Parking is just past the bridge. Please follow directions of traffic control personnel as you approach the campus area.

From South Bend International Airport

Turn left out of the airport entrance onto Lincoln Way West. Once in downtown South Bend, turn left on Michigan Street (Indiana 933). Continue to Angela Boulevard, the second stoplight north of the St. Joseph River. Turn right on Angela Boulevard. Turn left on Notre Dame Avenue.

From O’Hare Airport

Take Route 190 east out of O’Hare to Route 90 east (Kennedy Expressway) toward downtown Chicago. Merges with Route 94 south (Dan Ryan Expressway). Take Skyway exit off the Dan Ryan and remain on Route 90 to Indiana Toll Road. Eventually merges with Route 80. Use Exit 77 (South Bend/Notre Dame).

Note

An alternative route: Take Route 190 east out of O’Hare to Interstate 294 south (Tri-State Tollway) and follow the signs for 80/294 and then Interstate 80-90 (Indiana Toll Road). Use Exit 77 (South Bend/Notre Dame).

Football Friday Parking

Guest parking is available first come, first served in the Joyce/Compton Parking Lot on Holy Cross Drive between Compton Family Ice Arena and Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center, just east of the Eck Visitors Center and near Legends Restaurant.

Mobile Parking Passes

  • Use Waze to navigate to the appropriate parking area. The University of Notre Dame works with Waze to program our traffic pattern into navigation.
  • Have your mobile parking pass up on your phone and show it to officers directing traffic along your route when entering the traffic pattern.
  • Have your mobile parking pass pulled up and ready as you approach the scanners in each parking lot.

Reserved Parking

  • Please note ALL lot open times are 8:00 a.m. ET.
  • Zipper parking will begin at 9:00 a.m. ET in all lots.
  • Advance purchases (when available) can be made through the Murnane Family Ticket Office. Please refer below to the Parking Rules and Regulations for further information and note Reserved Parking is NOT guaranteed less than 90 minutes prior to kick-off.

For Accessible/ADA Parking in the Joyce and Stadium Lots (reserved parking), a state issued ADA placard or ADA license plate is required with a University issued parking pass.

Faculty, Staff, & Student Parking

Parking for faculty, staff, and students with a valid permit is free in White Field. ADA parking is also available for free for faculty, staff, and students with a valid permit and a state-issued hang tag or license plate in the Bulla Lot on Bulla Road. All other campus lots are subject to special restrictions during home football game weekends and special events. Additional information for faculty, staff, and students is available on the NDPD Parking webpage.

Shuttles

  • Run to and from the lots beginning at 8:00 a.m.
    • At least one shuttle will run throughout the entire game.
    • Post-game buses will run at least 2 hours post game until all lines are gone.
  • Please be aware that there could be a waiting period as the shuttles accommodate the mass exit of all guests at the end of the game.

  • Transpo’s Game Day Express route runs every Notre Dame Home Football Game Saturday from points in downtown South Bend to the Notre Dame campus. The route is free and open to the public, with free parking available at various downtown parking garages and the Century Center.
  • Transpo also offers a free shuttle from the South Shore Train station at South Bend International Airport to campus.

Courtesy Carts

UPDATE: Guest Services Team members will not be operating the Courtesy Cart Service on Friday, November 18th.

To experience all that a game weekend has to offer, Game Day extends our courtesy golf carts service to everyone on campus. The courtesy carts operate as a free, flag-down service and are available for one-way rides around campus on Fridays, and before gates open on Saturdays.

**Please note – Golf carts cannot be reserved and our service ends when gates open (based on home game kickoff time).

What time should I arrive for ESPN's "College GameDay"? If you want to make it on TV, you're going to have to get in "the pit." The "GameDay" pit opens at 6:30 a.m. and fans are admitted on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you want to ensure you get in, you probably want to get there sooner rather than later.
